Brevard Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit Reduces Crime Rate Through Community Events

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Throughout the past week, members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit have been busy doing their part to help lower our crime rate even further, by providing our citizens with vital crime prevention information before they become the next victim of crime. .
Through our partnerships with our public schools, business owners, women’s clubs, homeowners associations, churches, and local government, our crime prevention team reached over 300 Brevard County residents this week. on topics such as anti-bullying, fraud prevention, personal safety, sniper activity, human trafficking, and even hands-on self-defense training.

Our Crime Prevention team works hard every day to ensure our citizens get the information they need to protect themselves against any criminal trends that may impact our community.
Through programs such as lunch and learn sessions and neighborhood crime watch presentations, our crime prevention unit has played an incredible role in reducing our Brevard County crime rate by 51% in over the past nine years.
