Newsletter Editor –
We are looking to fill several volunteer positions for the newsletter.  Need Google, Excel and Email knowledge.
Ad Person.  We need a full time person to reach out to businesses and respond to questions.  Tom Moore transitioned to formatting but also doing ads.  The ad person cross checks information.
Co-Editors.  We haven’t heard from two co-editors in awhile.  We need to fill these jobs.   This requires about 1-1/2 hours a week or less.  The job can be performed through email correspondence.
Newsletter Editor, Laura, going on vacation.  Kat will supervise while Laura is gone.  We had issue with delivery last month.  Newsletters were placed in US Post Office mailboxes on three streets.  Secretary will email notify Sue Hill.  Sue has guidelines for new volunteers.  When people substitute they need the guidelines and also reminder from the normal delivery person to NOT put newsletters in the mailboxes.

Ice Cream Social Planning.
Set for July 15 from 11 am to 1 pm.  This is 22nd annual event.  Tribeca magazine did an article on the ice cream social.  We will have music from local neighbors.  For raffle prizes – Alamo Drafthouse, Genuine Joe’s for sure.  We will buy one from IGA.  Emily will check.  We are getting Don’s tent and Deanna’s tools.  Kat will send a reminder to the bands.  Plan on 10:30 am setup.  We have tables.  Will have table for CNA membership, Friends of Brentwood Park and Urban Patchwork.  Kat will take pictures.  Kat and Emily will bring ice chests.  Deanna has scoops and paper goods.  Tim will bring paper towels.  Emily will talk to IGA one week in advance to order ice cream.  Distribute flyers as appropriate.
Vacancy for Position 4.
Ali Thompson was elected for Board Position 4.  Kat made motion and Nancy seconded.  All officers in favor.
Traffic Calming.
City delays have occurred.  The process was started Jan 2008.  The physical process to construct traffic calming started today.  City should have put up temporary barriers to test the locations, however, the city has started painting locations and moving forward with permanent installations.  Some of the configuration changed from the original plan.  Some locations are moved deeper in the neighborhood and will not have initial impact of entering neighborhood.  Engineering decision takes precedence.  Started on Watson.  This will take 2 months to complete.  Please use the listserv to provide feedback on the process.  Laura will add to the July newsletter.
Medians are supposed to have plants.  CNA will institute an adopt-a-median plan.  Not sure how the medians will get water in the long-term.  Deanna will discuss with the city regarding water.  Will be planted with native vegetation and needs to be resistant to exhaust.  City has landscape architect to work on this.  Emily passed around a map.  Will do basic landscaping.  Neighborhood can enhance.  We can work with volunteer labor and supplies.  Original agreement was that city would landscape and take care of it but will now only do this for one year.  Deanna will post on the listserv.  Can girl scout troup adopt?  Yes.  Nancy and Ali interested.
What is the process?  Plant immediately?  When they are done, another city department will do the dirt work.  Parks will plant.  Water will water with water truck for one year.
Two New Business Items.
Form Friends of Crestview Park.
Lobby City for Ryan property for a park.  This is approx. 5 acres.  Kat made motion, Nancy seconded.  All Board members in favor.  Friends of Crestview Park is formed.
Crestview Station is supposed to be putting in trails.  Can we follow-up?  Yes, some plan but it was vague.  Approach Chris Riley.
City property abutts Ryan property.  Pedestrian crossing will have to go up and over which is expensive.  Push for whole 5 acres for park.  There is no green space in Crestview.
First we need commitment from appropriate entities to designate as a park, then work on a plan.  Deanna will email and kick-off group.
Annual Budget.
Would like to institute an annual budget so we will know revenue and plan expenses.  Emily and Nancy will join.  Eddie, too.
Laura will put a call into the newsletter for these committees.
One last item.
Crosswalk across Anderson.
Nancy will follow-up.  Crosswalk desired near the NATY, perhaps a signaled crosswalk.  Neighborhood contact team?  List of name for Wooten on the website.  Maybe we could partner with them.
A group approached CNA member about an artistic thing at the back of the Minimax, the Violet Crown Community Works.  Emily asked her to bring it the CAN.  Will do.
