Survey on desired future improvements at Brentwood Park

Friends of Brentwood Park is currently conducting a survey on amenities at Brentwood Park in order to guide future projects and grant applications. The survey asks how you and your family currently use the park, how you would like to use the park in the future, what your favorite and least favorite aspects of the park are, and what your priorities are for park improvements.

The survey can be accessed here. The survey will be closed on July 10.

In combination with workshops to be held later in the summer, the survey will help form the basis of a Brentwood Park Master Plan. For more about the master planning process, see our website or the June issue of the Crestview Newsletter.

A printed version of the survey is available by contacting Denman Glober at
friendsofbrentwoodpark@gmail.com or calling (214) 952-0773.

Thank you for your input!

05.09.11 CNA Election of officers to the executive committee

Please come to the 7pm meeting in Wozniak Hall of the St. Louis Church at Morrow and Burnet Rd. to participate in the annual elections of the volunteer staff of the CNA executive committee. The four place positions and the positions for president and treasurer will be accepting nominations. Anyone can be nominated from the floor, as long as they are a member of the neighborhood association (or become a member). Candidates for president must have served a prior term on the executive committee. The place positions are 1-year terms, while the president and treasurer terms are 2-year. Serving a term on the executive committee is a great way to give something of yourself to your community, meet your neighbors, and learn more about the challenges and opportunities that our neighborhood faces.

A range of tasty treats will be on sale, include offerings from Amy's Ice Creams, Elsi's Restaurant, and Hat Creek Burger Co.

This spring's festival is the 11th neighborhood event VCCW has coordinated since 2003. The event will again showcase the best of local music, food and arts; neighborhood history; community resources; and family activities. Proceeds from the festival will benefit Urban Patchwork, a Violet Crown-based non-profit CSA (community-support agriculture) dedicated to making local, natural food affordable and accessible for all of Austin.

In addition to the festival's major sponsors, other sponsors include Barnstormers Studio, Crestview Minimax IGA, Furnish 123, John Dunham/Juice Homes, The Pour House, and Richard Schley Realty.

Violet Crown Community Works is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas, helping build and sustain community in Brentwood and Crestview by supporting neighborhood enhancement projects and events.
