Brentwood Park “It’s My Park Day” - March 5th

Friends of Brentwood Park is hosting an “It’s My Park Day” Event
Brentwood Park
Saturday, March 5th
9 am to 12 pm

Come join us to spruce up our park on what we all hope will be a beautiful spring morning!

Here’s what we have planned:
* Pool Area - weeding, cleanup, tending the plantings
* Volleyball Court - Clean up, border maintenance, new net
* Park Sign Bed on Arroyo Seco - weeding, cleanup, tending the plantings
* Mulch Work - adjusting mulch around trees planted in November, replenish mulch on other trees
* General park cleanup

All volunteers need to stop by the volunteer table by the pool to check-in and pick up your packets. Each registered volunteer gets a super cool commemorative t-shirt, snacks and other goodies. All volunteers must sign a release form (required by Austin Parks Foundation) even if you have already pre-registered on the web.

Park along Arroyo Seco Street on the east side of the park.
The bathrooms at the pool will be open.

What to wear:
* Closed-toe shoes required!
* A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are highly recommended.
* Long sleeves and long pants advised.

What to bring:
* A water bottle and a coffee mug – we’ll have water and coffee, but to keep waste down, bring your own fluids container(s).
* Work gloves

We need tools! If you are bringing tools please mark them clearly with your name and phone number so we can make sure all tools get back to their owners.
Tools we’ll need:
* Wheelbarrows (if you have, please bring! we never seem to have enough)
* Rigid rakes for spreading mulch
* Pitchforks
* Shovels
* Weeding tools
* Garden forks
* Spades
* Trowels
* Loppers
* Pruners
* Shears

Please pre-register!! Only registered volunteers are eligible for t-shirts and snacks provided through Austin Parks Foundation.
Children must be accompanied by an adult who will work alongside them.
Rain date for this event: March 12th
If it’s cold, we’re working.
If it’s damp, we’re working.
If it’s raining or sleeting or hailing, we’re not working.
