Cap Metro railway weed maintenance

CapMetro is going to do some weed maintenance along our right of way over the next week. I went out with our Rail Department last week to identify sensitive areas (such as gardens, strategically placed agave plants, trees, etc) behind your houses that should be protected.

In general, we will be staying at least 5 feet away from the fence lines, but if you would like us note any specific areas to be protected, please let me know. I’ll pass the info on so it can be added to the locations we identified where restrictions should be observed in regards to vegetation control.

Thanks so much!

Train Horns End in Sight

Hi Crestview and Wooten neighbors,

I wanted to give you the most recent report on the train horns being blown in your area.

The horn blowing that has been experienced is due to the failure of a component that controls the exit gate at the crossing. In order to maintain the quite zone, all crossing arms must function as intended. If they do not, the Engineer is required by Federal regulation to sound the horn.

We have confirmed with our Director of Rail Operations that the component has been ordered and we anticipate the installation within 10 business days.

Please share this info with your neighbors.

Thanks,
Alissa
