New nightclub to go in near Anderson and Lamar

This Thursday, July 23rd at 4pm, City Council will have a hearing regarding the zoning variance request by the owner of the property next to Hobby Lobby. The owner plans to build a 7100 square-foot bar called "The Fault" at that location. The variance request is to expand the bar into a "Music Venue." The City Planning Commission has already supported this request 7-0, with the only person at the Planning Commission meeting who spoke out against it being the manager of Hobby Lobby.

UPDATE: A representative from the Wooten NA and Highland NA were at the meeting to speak out in opposition to the zoning change. The zoning change request from CS-MU-NP to CS-1-MU-NP (Commercial - Liquor Sales - Mixed Use - Neighborhood Plan) was approved on the 1st reading 4-3, and the public input phase (of the variance request) is now over.
