Crestview / Brentwood Neighborhood Patrol Kick-Off Meeting

Below is a press release produced by Louis Burns, a resident of the neighborhood.

Crestview / Brentwood Neighborhood Patrol Kick-Off Meeting

WHEN: Monday, August 27, 2007 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
WHERE: Koenig Lane Christian Church Assembly Hall, 908 Old Koenig Lane

Are you concerned about neighborhood burglaries, graffiti, and other undesirable activities? Come to the meeting on August 27 and learn about the Brentwood/Crestview Neighborhood Patrol that’s being formed.

Patrol teams will canvass the neighborhoods on foot, bike and car, observing and reporting suspicious activities to 911. Volunteers will also be available by request to check-in with senior residents. Social events will be held as part of our community building efforts and to educate residents and businesses on increasing safety in our homes and businesses.

The Patrol initiative is envisioned as an extension of existing neighborhood nonprofit organizations, so donations for any equipment needs will be encouraged. Background checks will be conducted and training will be provided. Volunteers will be needed for patrols, fundraising, public awareness and community outreach, and other organizational tasks. Our program could even be used as a model for other neighborhoods!

The meeting will be a pot-luck, so bring a dish you’d like to share while learning how Brentwood and Crestview neighbors will work together to help keep our neighborhoods safer.
